On your turn your units can do one location action each. There are 7 actions to choose from, depending on which location your unit is at; forests, churches, beacons, villages or castles.

During the game you gain influence with four different alliances, this unlocks various abilities that will let you upgrade certain actions, make your units stronger and score you more points.

Play cards to gain movement points to move your units around the board. Retrieve your heirs in the various castles to gain leader cards which gives you lots of special abilities in addition to movement points.

Fjordar features a modular board that lets you play on a new and unique 3D map each time you play. Players construct the map together in the beginning of the game using tiles made out of thick cardboard.
